Today you will depart on the Spirit of the Outback Train departing Roma St Station for your journey to Longreach in your Economy Seat or upgrade to the Sleeper Cabin with all meals. Relax and enjoy the views of the rugged mountain ranges and farming areas of the coast before making our way inland to the Queensland Outback.

Upon waking this morning on the train, the green hills of the coast have given way to the colour of rustic reds and sunburnt plains. We pass through historical towns of the Outback on our way into Longreach arriving late afternoon when we will transfer to our motel with time to freshen up for our group Welcome Dinner.
NOTE: If starting your tour in Longreach, please arrive today check into the motel anytime after 15:00pm.

Following breakfast this morning, we make our way to the Stockman’s Hall of Fame, a spectacular tribute to the people of Outback Australia. We explore the Long Paddock and join our virtual stockman “Hugh” on a journey retracing the footsteps of the men and women who built our nation. Then we enjoy A Stockman’s Life –Live Show in the Outback Stockman Arena. Get up close and personal experience with the stars of the show, human and four legged, live sheep muster, working dogs, horsemanship and stockman activities.
Then to the Qantas Museum for an included lunch and a tour of the 747, original Hangar and Museum, enjoying the many Qantas stories.
Late afternoon we make our way to a delightful sunset cruise on the Thomson River followed by a Riverside campfire dinner, capping off a wonderful day!

Today we visit Winton and the Waltzing Matilda Centre. This unique town has many interesting sites to see including Arno’s Walls, The Musical Fence and Banjo Paterson’s Music Wall.
We then make our way to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum of Natural History the Ultimate Dinosaur tour. This includes a guided tour of the Collection Room and the Fossil Preparation Laboratory. We also visit the March of the Titanosaurs exhibition and enjoy a self-guided walk of Dinosaur Canyon. Afterwards, we enjoy a unique dining experience, A DELUXE BBQ on the JUMP UP. Relax and enjoy an Aussie Outback BBQ with the dinosaurs whilst the sun is setting over the vast savannah plains.

Following breakfast we depart and make our way to The 3 Sisters. Located on a Private Station outside of Winton, Great Value Holidays has exclusive access on the Station to view the Rock Formations. We then depart for Lark Quarry. Just when you think things could not be any older, we will view the amazing fossilized rock formations of the 95 Million year old Dinosaur Stampede. Following the tour of the quarry we enjoy lunch in the bush before we set off back to Longreach.
This evening we enjoy the amazing Luminescent Longreach which is a 20 minute spectacular night time light and sound experience designed to delight, entertain, inform and move. Stand amongst iconic aircraft as world class projection mapping and 360 degree immersive sound brings the 100 year story of Qantas to life with the mighty Boeing 747 serving as a primary canvas. Luminescent Longreach weaves an unforgettable story through time, of the daring spirit of early aviation, of iconic aircraft, wars, distant places and outback innovation.

Following breakfast this morning we will board the Spirit of the Outback for a magical journey home. Relax and enjoy the sun burnt plains and historical towns of the Outback.
