Itinerary

Welcome to our fabulous tour to the Kimberley – one of the most remarkable and unusual landscapes in the country. We are arriving in Darwin during the best time of year, with warm days and low humidity.

Accommodation: Oaks Darwin Elan, Darwin
Meals: Dinner

Today we uncover the fascinating sites and interesting past of Darwin with a local expert. Many people aren’t aware of the importance of Darwin during World War II, so we’ll take a look at the city and learn the history of the bombings of Darwin. On our guided tour, we’ll see visible reminders and relics left behind after the bombing devastated Darwin and seriously threated Australia. On our tour we’ll also visit the Darwin Military Museum. We have the rest of the afternoon at leisure. This evening, we experience the famous Darwin sunset onboard the Spirit of Darwin. Cruise the tranquil harbour waters while enjoying dinner as the sun sets behind the horizons.

Accommodation: Oaks Darwin Elan, Darwin

We say farewell to Darwin and travel to the award-winning Territory Wildlife Park. Here we will be able to see and interact with native wildlife from tropical Northern Australia. The Territory Wildlife Park is committed to connecting people with the wild and offers the opportunity to witness unique Australian animals in a stunning bushland setting. Next, we head south to Adelaide River where we visit the Adelaide River War Cemetery. Here we see the military and civilian graves honouring those killed in the Bombing of Darwin. This afternoon we travel to Nitmiluk for a jaw dropping Gorge Cruise. Be transported to the spiritual world of the Jawoyn culture and history as we witness the magnificent gorge backdrop from our boat. Taking us to the end of the first gorge, experience the beauty of large boulders, rock pools and sands that make up the crossover to the second gorge. After an incredible day, we continue to Katherine for our overnight stay.
