Today you will depart on the Spirit of the Outback Train departing Roma St Station for your journey to Longreach in your Economy Seat or upgrade to the Sleeper Cabin with all meals. Upon waking this morning on the train, the Green Hills of the coast have given way to the colour of rustic reds and sunburnt plains. We pass through historical towns of the Outback on our way to Longreach arriving late afternoon, with time to freshen up before our Welcome Dinner.

Following breakfast this morning, we make our way to the Stockman’s Hall of Fame. First the Cinema: A Story of the Australian Stockman -A fully immersive cinematic experience showcasing virtual and real footage across a 16m screen–featuring the birth of a nation through the eyes of the Australian stockman We then explore the Museum with an audio self waking guide on a journey retracing the footsteps of the men and women who built our nation. Then we enjoy A Stockman’s Life –Live Show: Undercover grandstand seating in the Outback Stockman Arena, up close and personal experience with the stars of the show –human and four legged.
Following our morning at SHOF, we make our way into Town and enjoy some time to wonder the historical streets and grab a bite to eat if you wish.
FESTIVAL OF THE OUTBACK OPERA NIGHT! We begin the evening with a delicious three-course dinner at the Qantas Founders Museum before taking our seats for Bravo!

This morning following breakfast we depart for Winton and make our way to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum of Natural History. We take a guided tour of the Museum’s Collection Room and enjoy the March of the Titanosaurs exhibition followed by a self-guided walk of Dinosaur Canyon.
We then make our way into Winton for lunch followed by a tour of this fascinating town, including Arnos Wall the Musical Fence. This afternoon we visit the Waltzing Matilda Museum and Banjo Patterson’s Musical Wall which is a dedication to the man who first to perform this ballad in Winton before travelling back to Longreach.
This evening we making our way to the amazing Luminescent Longreach which is a spectacular 20 minute light and sound experience designed to delight, entertain, inform and move. Stand amongst iconic aircraft as world class projection mapping and 360 degree immersive sound brings the 100 year story of Qantas to life with the mighty Boeing 747 serving as a primary canvas, told through 3D animation, traditional animation and illustration.
We end the day with a fun and memorable dining experience, where hot-stone cooking brings the age-old campfire tradition to the dining table! Choose your favourite meat, fish or vegetarian option and watch it sizzle to perfection on your own hot stone. Enjoy a generous selection of sides, fresh salads and delicious sauces, then finish with the all-you-can-eat homestead dessert bar. It’s a true outback feast where great food takes centre stage and hearty appetites are always welcome!

This morning we board Longreach’s only Heritage Rail Motor for a unique outback experience. Travelling through the Mulga, arriving at Darr River we enjoy billy tea and smoko.
This afternoon we visit the Qantas Museum enjoying the many Qantas stories and a tour of the 747, Original Hangar and Museum.
This afternoon, we enjoy Outback Pioneers’ iconic Thomson River sunset cruise aboard the historic Thomson Belle paddlewheeler. As the sun sets, the river comes alive with beautiful reflections and changing colours, providing wonderful photo opportunities.
After cruising, we step ashore for traditional riverbank entertainment, including a hearty stockman’s dinner around the crackling campfire, accompanied by outback tales and bush poetry. We then settle in to enjoy Starlight’s Spectacular Sound & Light Show, featuring an exclusive film recounting the adventures of Captain Starlight, also known as Harry Redford. It’s a memorable evening celebrating the stories, characters and spirit of the Australian Outback.
